Astilbe 'Peach Blossom' (Astilbe japonica) is a compact, clump-forming perennial that has dense plumes of light peach-pink flowers. Each plume, which blooms in the early summer, is made up of hundreds of closely packed, small flowers that open one after the other to create a long-lasting floral show. They stand over a pretty mound of glossy green foliage and are supported by upright, strong stems. Long-lasting and richly caramel-colored, the flower plumes add winter appeal to the landscape. This lovely asteliad is deer and rabbit resistant, reasonably trouble-free, low care, tolerant of severe shade, and attracts butterflies. The ideal perennial for a border that receives dappled light and shade.
