Juniperus chinensis var. sargentii

Juniperus sargentii, sometimes called Sargent Juniper, is a mat-like shrub that grows prostrate with ascending branchlets to only two feet, making it an excellent choice for groundcover. For spreading, plants should be placed 6 to 8 feet apart. Its juvenile whorled needle-like leaves and mature scale-like blue-green leaves are similar to those of the genus. It is evergreen and fragrant.
