The award-winning 'Duchesse de Nemours' (Paeonia lactiflora), a very old but incredibly gorgeous peony, is well worth putting in your garden. It produces crown-shaped blooms with rich, creamy-white petals that are softly touched with a tint of yellow. It is a free-flowering plant that has a lovely aroma. The outer petals are broad and rounded, enclosing a ring of smaller petals, and a bursting crown of enormous, white, somewhat incurved petals is on top. They are born in great numbers on sturdy stalks and float above exceptionally lovely green foliage. For more than 150 years, "Duchesse de Nemours" has enjoyed merited popularity.
